Nov 8, 2011 Nevada County Board of Supervisors approved the Resolution to close the Emigrant Trail public easements for an additional 18 months, but directed Planning Staff to return in the first meeting in January 2012 with a Plan and Milestones to complete the research and alternatives to open and develop the Emigrant Trail.

Oct 14, 2010 Emigrant Trail Conservancy Meeting AGENDA: Emigrant Trail Resolution to suspend public access and the path to open the public easements. Priorities set to provide data to Nevada County Planning Department on historic merit, viability, location, and alternatives. Board to tentatively approve Resolution on November 23, 2010.
Sept 21, 2010 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS accept the NEVADA COUNTY NON-MOTORIZED RECREATIONAL TRAILS MASTER PLAN with a Resolution to direct Staff to temporarily suspend public access to the Emigrant Trail easements for one year. During that year, Staff is to meet and work with members of the public to clear the legal obstacles to be able to open the trail with specific conditions met, or re-new the suspension for more work.
